The Union belge de spéléologie (UBS) is a sports federation recognised by the French-speaking Community of Belgium. It brings together people, ideas and resources to serve its members and their many sporting disciplines: speleology, climbing, underground diving and canyoning.
The Federation’s aim is to defend speleology in all its forms, to promote the sport and, with a view to safeguarding the environment, to protect the places where it is practised in Belgium.
The Outsider Ardennes offers sports and nature activities in the beautiful Ourthe valley between Comblain-au-Pont and Hamoir.
The activities, spread over several sites, are as varied as they are fun. Safety and respect for nature are the watchwords at The Outsider Ardennes.
Comblain-au-Pont has its own cave for speleology.
The Rock quarry at Comblain-la-Tour welcomes the most intrepid for its harnessed activities: Adrénaline ( suspended bridges, free-fall jumps, abseiling, etc.) or introduction to rock climbing (several routes and vias ferratas) or teambuilder.
In the woods at Fairon, a daring course and a bush expedition have been set up. Prefer to stay on dry land? The laserbattle field is also located in this forest. It’s a great way to let off steam as a team for 2 and a half hours.
The starting point for water-based activities, such as rafting and kayaking, is in Hamoir, as are the adventure walks for younger visitors.
